Crash bars for Vulcan S

I have been searching online for Vulcan S crash bars... The ones I found are 1" to 1.25" diameter, or 25 mm. I could not find info on the thickness of the metal online, except for the Puig (.083"). Prices go from $135 up to $330.

Motorgenic: $165

R&G: $330

Waase: $156

Ebay (Chinese?): $135

Puig: $222

Have any of you fitted any of these bars?

I got ones from China as it different shape as most on US market. There is no instruction or even a decent final picture of the manufacturer intended installation. After testing my installation I found that it interfere with bake and shift controls. Do you guys have any idea about the placement of these bars?

No idea about your question but I have to say that I hope you dont think it will help with anything. They will just fold and probably hurt you even more instead of being sturdy and help in crash situation.
Sure, this thing not an airbag for a highway crash. Main purpose were to help during low speed practice drills were I start to push my limits. This way it will tip on bars.

To be honest they don't look like they can support the weight of the motorcycle when the point of contact is so far away from mounting point. I really hope they can bit I highly doubt it.

I have basically new R&G for sale if anyone is interested. $250
Throwing up a hail mary - Any chance you still have these crash bars? 😂
Has any Vulcan 650 rider installed the T-Rex crash bars on their bike. If you have photos of the installed bars that would be so helpful since i have been looking at them.

Thanks,

Tim
I wouldn't say the only ones.
Mine do.
I have the RG Extension kit on aswell which puts them another 2" forward.
What do you mean be RG extension kit - I can't find this item. Link?

You're right. Looks like they're no longer listing. I'd be interested to find out why.
I remember seeing a chinese version. Maybe it was price competition.
I might be picking up some TRex bars. I had them on a Rebel 1100 and they were great! I can post my experience if I do get them.
I picked up a cheap set on Amazon. And I have already dropped her on the parking lot twice. Not a scratch on the bike and no damage on the bars. YMMV

Spent a very aggravating afternoon trying to install crash bars on my bike. Had myself torqued into a pretzel trying to flex the bar and force it into place whilst getting the bolts started. Managed to get the left one on, but then it was so out of spec that I couldn't reinstall the plastic trim that holds the radiator side cover. Fought and fought with the right hand side, almost pulled the bike over on myself a few times, and finally gave up. There was just no way the lower bolt holes were ever going to line up. I considered drilling out a hole to make it fit, but that wouldn't have left much metal in that area. I also didn't have any hardware included that would have connected the cross bar. So I gave up and pulled them off and tossed them back in the box to return.

Looks sooooo close but the holes are drilled in the wrong place and will never line up, not even when I was using a pry bar to try and force it.

The plastic trim was pushed out of shape by the bar. I don't mind a little "finessing" to get the things to fit but I'm not putting up with it being this far off.
That's what I get for going for a cheap set off ebay I guess.
Back to shopping; I don't want to spend on the Puig, plus I prefer a set that has the horizontal bar between the two vertical bars, and the Puig doesn't seem to be built that way.
Jadehawk, what set did you pick up from Amazon? I keep re-reading the reviews and even with the Puig it seems like a lot of people run into the misalignment.
And does anyone have a good source for buying better hardware? My local Ace doesn't have anything that would fit. I was quite unhappy with the Chinesium bolts, felt like they were going to snap as I tried to thread them in and was afraid they were going to bugger up the threads on my bike.

The link to the ones I picked up is on my previous post. I do have to add that installing them on the bike was not difficult as long as you get all the bolts started before you crank them down.

They also looked like they would not be aligned, but they did at the end.

I have removed the crash bars and reinstalled them again in minutes. (Had to repaint them after I spilled brake fluid on them and ruin the paint!).

R&G makes a nice-looking set, but they are pricey. I almost got those.

P.S.
Your picture looks exactly like the ones I got from Amazon.
