I've only owned this 2002 Vulcan 500 for about 2 weeks. It's been sitting since 2006. Got it fired up today and pretty pleased with the way it's running. I let it idle for about 15 minutes but cooling fan never came on. It was probably 68-70 degrees outside. Not knowing what the cooling water temp is, I'm not sure if there is an issue or not. What do you guys think? Normal or something I need to look at?

Appreciate it

Ditto on fan only coming on every once in a while.

Specs say the thermostat is supposed to open around 160 degrees Fahrenheit, so the sensor on the radiator should be just a tad higher. No sense for the fan to blow air across the coil when there is no circulation through it, eh?

According to the Service Manual:

The Fan switch should 'close' at 205-212 F then it should 'open' at 196F.

Also, the Temp light on the dash should come ON at 235-243F then OFF at 226F.
