Hello All,

I recently got a pre-owned 2007 Classic LT. I have been having few questions and queries. I am posting them in different threads so that answering them and following them is lot easier!

I looked at the coolant reserve tank and it is very close to min level (or slightly below min level). I am planning on topping it up.

Owner Manual talks about some OEM coolant. Here are the questions I have:
1. Can I top up the existing OEM coolant with a new coolant?
2. Which brand of coolant should I buy and what should I mix it up with?

Links to the products would help a lot. I am sorry, I might need a lot of hand holding since this is my first bike in this country :(

Thanks and Regards,
Sharada

The coolant is a 50/50 mix with water. You can buy coolant pre-mixed (highly recommended you buy it that way to ensure the water is distilled and clean, you don't want any hard water deposits ruining your engine!), just make sure it's a coolant that will work in Aluminum engines - most are, just check on the bottle or ask the guys at the parts store.

Pretty much any coolant will work, brand is usually a personal preference.

You may want to completely drain it all out and replace with fresh, coolant looses it's effectiveness over time, and you really have no idea what the PO used.
