Long B.S. short. I got the Ruger LCP; it doesn't have the knock down power but it's comfortable on the bike.

Ride safe

Scott Thank you for that post. You are right there was some good information on there but also some rather sad postings. I have to say some people in this world today just make me sad. Thank you again for the help
I love my main carry but is it s Kimber pro raptor 2 .45 and although it is pretty light it is still not the lightest. My finances is not much better she carries a sig tacops 45
I carry a Smith and Wesson M&P Shield in .40 caliber in a Comp-Tac Minotaur holster. I carry it at about 4-5 o'clock and it's comfortable, even on the bike. Sometimes I carry in an ankle holster, same gun. Depends on what shirt I am wearing (who knew guns would make you a fashionista?) for how I carry. Either is comfortable on the bike.
I carry on my bike wearing a Fox Creek Leather concealed carry vest or my Fox Creek Leather Commander coat. Comfortable to carry whatever CC piece I choose to carry that day..
I carry a XD40 in a shoulder rig under my gear. Yes it is much harder to get to it with the gloves on and having to unzip the jacket. I consider it a moot point since I have the ability to move away quickly on the bike.

Chances are you won't have to use it while on the bike. :D But I have been in some pretty unsavory and isolated rest areas and wished I had my .40 with me. Unfortunately, one was in California, so.....

I once got off the free way somewhere in southern California to get gas and realized I was in a neighborhood where one usually sees an episode of COPS or "The First 48" being filmed. I couldn't get away from there fast enough.

Unsure what you meant... did you mean there is no CHL in California?

May I carry a concealed firearm in California?
Generally you may not carry a concealed firearm on your person in public unless you have a valid Carry Concealed Weapon (CCW) license. CCW licenses are issued only by a California county sheriff to residents of the county, or the chief of police to residents of the city. California law does not honor or recognize CCW licenses issued outside this state.

I had the same problem and settled on a vest, that has two gun pockets, one on each side. Got the vest from Jafrum for about $28 including shipping. It also has extra pockets for spare ammo and with a little practice you can draw it very quickly, I also invested in an insurance policy in case I use the weapon.
I carry all the time, except for when I'm at work during the week (I work in NJ. . . 'nuff said), or when I'm going through a "Criminal Safe Zone" (Illinois, Canada, California, etc). I have several handguns, though, and have quite a few holsters. Check out the SuperTuck from Crossbreed, or check out High Noon Holsters. All quality stuff.

I don't do pockets and purse carry and all of that. I use a holster that I can draw from quickly and easily. I'm not going to be an easy rape victim.
My Fox Creek vests and coats have holsters built into the CC pockets. So does my Roma Leathers CC undercover vest with two pockets. I use holsters too depending on what I am doing and where. No problems drawing from gun pockets with practice. Basically a persons CC method is personal preference and practice is the key.
I recently bought a very inexpensive belly band from Amazon. Works great on the bike as I can conceal even under a T-shirt. Wont print if you place the band in the right place and the shirt is not tight. The belly band can even be worn up around your chest and tuck you weapon near you rib cage. I carry a Springfield XDM 40.
Not to concerned around Home, But, always carry in the Smokies, just for the bear. We have been on some deep woods trails there.
I carry everywhere I legally can. I have my GAWCL here in Georgia. I always use an IWB Bianchi leather holster. You can't tell I have it on me. Heck, half the time I forget I even have it on me.
I usually carry a Kel-Tec PF9 in a holster from White Hat Holsters. Not as much firepower as a 45 but it's a comfortable and accessible carry. www.whitehatholsters.com
I carry either my S&W SD9 or my Bersa 380CC. My River Road straight jacket vest has a gun pocket on the chest. In cold weather, I wear a shoulder harness under my river road leather coat.

I like my Sneaky Pete for carrying my Taurus Slim 9mm.

I bought my fiancé a taurus tcp380 for a concealed carry on her bike. and i have the taurus pt709 slim 9mm for my bike. Although i am looking to find the right type of leather holster to carry for our main carry. She loves her 1911 Sig Sauer tacos 1911 5". While i want to be able to carry my Kimber Pro Raptor ii 45 with a 4" barrel. But i have to admit i really do enjoy my little taurus slim 9mm.
I carry a magnum down my pants. ;)
