Something like that is just what I'm looking for. Is it reliable? What brand is it and where can it be found?
Thanks

A compass should not be mounted near anything containing iron, as they operate according to the force of magnetism. A mounted GPS will be more accurate.

And more expensive too, but it all depends on what you want from the device.
Determine your needs then buy the device that satisfies those needs.

Make sure you have a compass where true north can be adjusted. The steel in your bike as well as the electronics (like the magneto) exude a strong electrical field. On my Honda Shadow Sabre, my compass pointed SE no matter what direction I went!
