MY "friction zone" seems to be getting smaller and, I think I notice some slipping when I'm up shifting.
Any suggestions?

Do you have any "rattle"......sounds almost like the valves ticking but does not have any particular cycle to it. You may notice it most just at the separation of the pulley cover and stator cover......as well there may be some lag in the clutch when stopping?? Mine has been like this for a while..I've decided to put in a new clutch.....60K on 'er now(08)

What type of oil do you use? The oil lubes the engine,as well as the trani and clutch so the oil you use has to be wet clutch compatible. If it's not,it can cause slipping.Just a thought.

Having your clutch cable adjusted correctly is very important. you need to have a little play in the lever. You can see there is a small gap on mine. The lever and the stop should not meet flush. Not saying it's your problem but something to look at...

I use the setting recommended in the user manual.
It says a couple of mm's gap between handle and stop.
I have had to adjust it once in a while to keep a smooth shift.
The bike does seem to slip more in really hot weather, say over 95 degs.
