I got a dealership selling a left over 2008 V2k priced at 11859, does anyone think its a good deal??

Another question should of get a left over V2k or just get the new 1700 Classic?

What would be pros and cons of the two bikes?

Havent riden the 1700 yet.

But I'd say the fit and finish of the 2000 is better. A lot less plastic. The 1700 has plastic head covers and engine covers. The 2000 is mostly metal (and of course heavier as a result).

I think the 1700 borrowed a lot from the 900 with all the plastic used. Too bad. The 900 was a good bike - but for an entry level bike - u'd expect the plastic. The 1700 being the new flagship - I think Kawi went the wrong way.

Also - the 1700 has overhead cams where the 2000 is pushrod. The 900 with overhead cams has a lot of cam wine. U dont get this with the pushrods. I'm expecting an irritating cam wine with the 1700 (???)

The 1700 does have better rear shocks and more easily adjustable. Kind of a shortfall on the 2000.

The seat is supposed to be better on the 1700 also - but not sure.

The 2000 engine is beautiful with air cooled jugs and liquid cooled heads - the best of both worlds. THe bike has character. Not so sure about the 1700.

I'd keep looking. I just picked up a 09 V2K for 11995. They need to move inventory so will make deals
