95-96 800 stock 16/46 sprockets 2.875 ratio = (high torque at low end, high RPM at Highway speed)
97-05 800 stock 17/42 sprockets 2.470 ratio = 75mph/4250 RPM (lower RPM at highway speed)
800 uses 114 link chain stock
Use steel sprockets never aluminum
18 tooth front sprocket unavailable

Chains come in 520, 525 and 530 Pitch
520 pitch chain goes with 520 sprockets (sprocket thickness)
530 pitch chain goes with 530 sprockets

Higher ratio = more acceleration, higher RPM at low end (more bottom end)
Lower ratio = lower RPM at cruising speed, (higher top end speed)

16/46 2.875 monster low end torque (stock 95-96 800)
17/46 2.706
17/45 2.647
17/42 2.470 (stock 97-05) - chain path at zero, reduction 100%
17/41 2.41 (higher top end speed) - shortens chain path by 0.30" 112 links
17/40 2.35 - shortens chain path by 0.60" , reduction 95.2%
17/39 2.294
17/38 2.235 use 112 link chain
Belt 2.222= 18/40 75mph/3800 RPM

Adjust chain if less than 1" or more then 1 3/8"
41 tooth rear sprocket only made in aluminum

17/42 65mph 3750 RPM 114 link = 100%
17/40 65mph 3570 RPM 112 link = 95.2%
18/42 65mph 3500 RPM
18/42 75mph 4000 RPM
17/42 75mph 4250 RPM (Stock base line)
17/40 75mph 95.2% of 4250 RPM = 4046 RPM (204 RPM reduction)
18/40 75mph 3800 RPM (450 RPM reduction)

To clean chain use kerosene in spray bottle then wipe chain clean with rag,
Don't use WD40 because it's a penatrant removing O-Ring grease
To lube chain just use 80-90 gear oil
