Anyone know what the Tensile strength should be for a VN800 drive chain? I know stock its an Enuma EK50MV-O, but cant find spec anywhere. One can get duped into too light of chain if not careful.
Thanks in advance any and all contributors.

Thank you for your quick response. Is that in fact the spec for the original chain also or only the replacement you have suggested?

9700 lbs

That 9700 lbs tensile is the specification from BikeMaster for their own BikeMaster manufactured chain for the VN800

or only the replacement you have suggested?

If you want the original Kawasaki chain for the VN800 you will need to contact a Kawasaki Dealer, they also might provide you with original chain tensile, because I don't know it. But I don't think Kawasaki original specification tensile is going to be greater than 9700 lbs. When ordering a replacement chain for your VN800 made sure that the tensile strength is rated to your cc engine size. The BikeMaster 530 BMXR chain is rated for 900cc engines. You won't break it on your 800. I assume you are looking to replace your chain.
