Here are some of the things i did to my carb to help my bike perform better. Im sure some of you way know the mods done to this carb to help it from the factory the CVK comes lean now what i have. The evap emission system is all gone on mine vacuum port pluged off. Im running a pod filter with V&H stright shots no baffles. What i did to the carb to get it to run with all Stock jets. The float hight is set at oem spec 16.5 plus or minus 1mm the AF screw is set on my bike at 2 3/4 turns out iv meesed with 3 as both worked good. now the mods i have done to the carb i took the slide and the vacuum port to lift the slide up i drilled out with a 1/8 drill bit. Make sure this hole is perfect and clean then i took a fine file and just lightly burred the eddged of the slide so it will flow easy. Then steel wool to clean it upnext with the stock needle i used a #4 washer and shimmed it this is .025 thousands thick richning the jet up a bit low end 1/4 throtle. This will fatten your fuel mixture on your main jet and will get rid of any snezzing threw the carb. As well running a pod filter you can mod the filter to have a limted amount of airflow using a soccer cone to block of the air as needed. if you do all that to your carb your looking main part of .89cents for the shims for your needel and a little bit of time:D and your bike will run like a champ.
