Hey folks! . I'm Phil. Just got my first Vulcan. Totally love it already. Can't wait to play on and with it. But having some problems already.

Brought it home Friday. Ran smooth. Garaged it. Tried starting. No go. Took off the cover to the air filter. Gas poured everywhere. Filter looks very old. Fired it up with no problem. Gas is shooting out. Also have gas dumping out from a tiny tube under the bike. Help please?

Love this forum.

Ideas?

So a Harley guy I met tonight said it sounds like my float may be stuck in the carb and I should tap it, and if need be, remove the bowl and check/clean it.

Sounds good to me. Yes? No? In the right direction??

Yes tapping it usually unsticks the float bowl. Was the bike laid up for a while before you got it? Also get some SeaFoam and add a small amount to your gas.

I had a similar issue after my bike was laid up fo almost 2 years. Not as bad as yours but it did weep gas when it was turned off. All I did was run about 2 tanks of super with some Seafoam and shes as good as new.

I think think the bowls get gummed up. Not necessarily dirt.
