What do Ya'll fellers think about this? :)

They should engineer some sort of charge generating device that runs off the wheel(s) like an alternator on a combustion vehicle. This THING goes 100mph and has a 100 mile range on a single charge. Impractical for long distance rides but can be charged at a vehicle charging station on hypercharge mode to keep you putting around or fully charge at home in 3 hours.

Interesting, but got to do something about the 100 mile range limit

I think it'd be totally cool for commuting.

An electric bike would be a blast to ride. Electric motors have gobs of torque and develop 100% torque from 0RPM on up.

Problem is, and it's the problem with any electric car right now on the market, I can't envision a scenario where a commute short enough to be done with an electrical vehicle would actually end up saving you money. If your commute is 20-30 miles away (with most electric vehicles, 40 or so miles with this one, one-way but who knows how generous that 'up to' is), then the amount of fuel you save (It's not 100%, you still have to buy electricity for the vehicle) I don't think will ever catch up to the very high cost of buying the vehicle, AND needing to maintain multiple vehicles.

But, still very cool.

I have a pretty good idea that range and affordability is available for electric rides but the catch is the affect this would have on BIG OIL.

Want a light bulb that lasts forever? A MC tire that lasts possibly the life of the bike?

I also believe there are alternative engines that have been invented but were bought out and buried.
