After looking for a more touring orientated bike than my 500, I found a 2005 1600 Nomad, with 27,000 miles. Test rode it and my wife said she loved the ride. Bought from the same dealer I got the 500 from, and he sold the Nomad new and serviced it. Am looking forward to getting it next week. Already planning a ride on the Great River Road in Wisconsin, with my sister and her husband.

What I liked best about the 08 Nomad I had for awhile was that at 80 mph the rpms were very tame. It is a bike that does just about everything very well...Plus in my book, it is the handsomest cruiser ever...those oval bags are the nuts.

I had a 1600 nomad for awhile and liked it a lot. I really enjoyed the very low rpms at interstate speeds. I also liked the steadiness of the ride. it does just about everything above average I my opinion.

I have put a little over 1000 miles on the Nomad. I am really enjoying it. Very smooth on the highway, and my wife is very comfortable as a passenger.
