The vulcan 900 in my signature I aquired for a dirt cheap price. It is not mint by any stretch but very nice overall, but with a horrible deamon decal on the tank that has been clear coated over. A repaint is absolutly required, and that is something I can do.

Opinions please....

1. Repaint to Kawasaki Lime Green metallic and leave stock.
2. Repaint a custom color and leave stock.
3. Install complete blue collar bobbers kit and repaint custom.

What does a bobber kit do to the bikes value if it is done right?

No idea on value, but it really all depends on what you want from the bike. If its just for local cruising, then I love the bobber kits, they look great, especially if going wit a full paint job anyway, (I'm partial to baby blue.) However, if you may want to do weekend treks and the like, then you may want to go another direction, ie, full dresser with saddle bags and fairing, all painted to match of course.

I will do both. Lots of short commutes, but also that long weekend 300 - 600 mile trip.

I wanted to bob mine, but from what I understand its permanent (ie have to cut the rear fender supports off). It would be super if there was a way around that...

I recommend a repaint and leave it. It is still a great lookin bike. :)
