I am thinking about planning one. Anyone know how to go about setting one up? Any information would be helpful.

Would anyone from the board be willing to join up for the ride? I was thinking about doing something where people donate by the mile or, if they prefer, just a set amount. I'd like to do a 2000-3000 mile ride.

I am just in the beginning steps, so I have not decided on a charity.

DISCLAIMER: All charities are important and all people that are affected by diseases are important!

I would like to donate this to a smaller charity. Susan G. Komen and the Children's Hospital get tons of attention, and while noble causes for both, I'd like to do something a little less main stream. My boss' son died of cancer (I'm blanking on the type now) and was thinking about doing a donation for that.

If you have a charity that you would like to see me look into, let me know and I will check it out.

Nobody? Not even someone willing to get involved?

I've never planned a charity ride, but if I may suggest, it might be easier to start by contacting the charity that you want to help. They may have a lot of the info you need. Then I would check with local government since you may need permits/insurance. Finally local PD since you may need escort.

on a personal note, my family regularly donate to march of dimes, st. jude, and breast cancer as we have been affected by each.

Pick something that you are passionate about and go for it.
