I don't have the exact same one (mine has the driver's backrest) and that is the only way to go. Mustang makes an amazing seat, and I can ride on mine for hours and hours. Well or until I run out of fuel anyway. Great seat, but I'd recommend the backrest for sure.
I too have the Mustang seat with the detachable drivers backrest, looks like the same seat except with a backrest. Great seat, I'm 250lbs and can ride for an easy 4 hours without back aches, add a sheepskin cover and I'm good for all day.
The driver's seat IMO is the same for all bikes. They just fit it to the pan for each individual bike. I have two different bikes and where I sit compared to the OEM is different (forward or back) - that's all.
I have this seat. Very comfortable. I'm 290 lbs. and have put a couple hours on the seat at a time without any complaints. Previous owner has some permanent non-adjustable backrest installed, super comfy. Passenger enjoys it too
