Any 1600 Classic interchangeable parts?

I think I once saw someone had taken the fairings off a HD and put it on his Vulcan. haha Another guy used a HD Tour truck pack and fit it onto his 1600.

Anything that says 1500 is good for the 1600 (except seats)

check out wompus for rear luggage.
but apart from fairings and luggage, you need to ask more specific questions about individual items

Oh ya. I love his page. I wish he had more updates. I even plan on donating to him for the work he put into his page. But I was thinking along the lines of some of the posts Ive found over time about people adding Honda or Harley body parts and Tour pack or farings to their Vulcans.

Tour packs and fairings are common swaps, but the brackets arent available over the counter. You need to search for "harley fairing on vulcan" or similar words. Theres a guy on Delphi vulcan foums that used to make brackets for fairings, dont know if he still does but its worth a shout.

A lot of other stuff can be made to fit quite easily, but brackets often need to be altered or changed, thats when you need to tell us EXACTLY what parts are involved.

ah ha. Got it.

I thought maybe there was some universal fitting parts between our bikes and HD's. I get it. I was just looking around and browsing for anything I might want to do next. At this time Im thinking about adding some 3M Black reflective tape to the sides of my floorboards. But still researching for our HOT Arizona HEATS. I think the glue may come off.

That would a labour of love, and take a couple years as well.

Thats a STEBEL Nautilus air horn on the crash bar. Awesome machine, it will scare the hell out of any one who tries to cut you up. Totally recommended as a mod to any bike.

Can You Use 96 VN1500 exhaust on 03 VN1600

Anyone have any idea if an aftermarket exhaust off of a 1996 VN1500 Classic can be installed on a 2003 VN1600 Classic? I see a couple web sites selling certain Cobra pipes and a couple Cobra sets use the same part number for bot of these bikes so I am leaning on that they will interchange between the two. As long the they mount up to the engine the same I think I can use them as I plan on wrapping them in tape. If the pipes need a little modification then I can fix that with my MIG welder and wrap them afterwards. Just trying to see if anyone has already tried this with success or failure first before I buy them.

the 1600 and 1500 engines are the same on the outside except for the top chrome cover. The pipes will fit the engine fine. There might be a slight mismatch on the muffler brackets, but it will be easily fixable.

I put a batwing on my 1600 so I could listen to music while riding. The brackets that came with it didn't fit. So I used 2x2 aluminum angle cut and drilled to fit. I used 2 pieces per side and just flipped them back to back to fit the bill.

I put Harley hard bags and tour pack on my 1600 as well
