Hello...I bought an 07 900 Vulcan Classic LT 3 months ago with 2,500 miles on it. About a month after that I noticed a slight smell of anti freeze when traveling or stopping at a light. I noticed the other day that about 1/2 way down the front of the forward piston there is a seal. I have a few drop of AF coming from there, I think. Anyone else have this problem..? I went to the dealer and they said that the engine would have to be pulled and it is probably a head gasket (They have not looked at it yet)..Any suggestions...? I can see this turning into big money, fast...help ! Gregg

I had antifreeze leaking from where the coolant hose connects to the front of the front piston (on an 07 classic). Took it back to the dealer and they either tightened the clamp or replaced it. Either way, they fixed it fast (and under warranty), cleaned off the antifreeze residue from the cylinder's fins and I was on my way. They definitely didn't pull the head apart.

It's been about 3000 miles since then without any problems.

I'd say about half way down. Because it was leaking at the point where it entered the cylinder, it dripped a little and some of blew onto the back cylinder too. Once the antifreeze gets too hot, it turns to that white crusty stuff. I had a little on both cylinders.

But it's been too long for me to remember exactly how much was where. Sorry.
