Discussion Starter #1
I've recently changed the battery after having issues with the bike starting. I got up this morning to ride and nothing. When I turn the key, everything lights up, but I do not hear the fuel pump priming. When I hit the starter button, nothing happens. I tried jumping it across the solenoid and it will turn over that way quite well, but it will not fire. I tried changing the solenoid and checked all the fuses. Nothing will make the fuel pump engage, or the bike try to fire. I'm now out of ideas on what to try.

If your starter button does not work I bet it's all tied together with the circuit that controls the fuel pump. Maybe it's a computer issue? You have two different problems:

- When you turn on the key the fuel pump does not prime
- Your starter button does not work

Sounds like the side stand switch "alliswell" or maybe the kill switch "vulcandoc". Or, maybe your battery voltage is too low? Bad connection on the battery?

- Check your battery connections
- Put up the side stand
- Pull in the clutch

Maybe hook up a battery charger (not trickle charge) or jump it?
