Need some help from anyone in ABQ. My son got a '01 Classic 1500 a few months back and needs to have new tires installed. Would like to know if anyone can recommend someplace that doesn't charge an arm and a leg for this. I'm in WA state (pray for me) and I have a small tire "place" that only charges $10 per wheel when I remove and bring them in.

Thanks

Yep, is this the kid that's gonna ride along with you to Texas?

This is the kid. Use to have a FatBob, got rid of it and was bikeless for awhile. Found this one at a very good price and upgraded! He's running Shinko 777's. I just ordered Shinko's for my nomad last night. Gonna change 'em out even tho the Michelin's still have a little life left. Just really prefer Shinko tires.

Looking forward to meeting someday.

I run Shinko TourMaster 230's on mine. The mileage expected on them is not much, only around 7K miles I think. But that lasts a while for my amount that I ride each year (Hoping to change that amount drastically this year!) If I got tires that lasted much longer, mileage-wise, I'd probably wind up swapping them out because of age.

I will adjust the maintenance period on lubing up my drive shaft and final gears to whenever I change out the tires. It never hurts to lube earlier than particularly needed.

If there is any type of maintenance that is done "out back" once his rear wheel is removed, now may be the time for him to consider that also since the wheel will be off anyway.

You're in Toledo, right? I'll let you know the next time I head out Morton-way.

Toledo is the place! I have 777's on my Classic, 230's on my Honda Tourer and ordered 230's for my Nomad. Love them all. My Honda as almost 10K on her 230's and about half of the tread left! I expect to get about 16K or more from them.

Give me a holler. Good luck on your air leak.
