If the fans coming on then the engine is getting hot or the fan wouldn't come on. Better check the water pump out or the thermostat.
where are they located ? I've never worked on a motorcycle just work on quads and dirt bikes

I had the same trouble with my 99 Kawasaki Vulcan it was my thermostat sensor the wire was grounding out and was yelling caught and the temperature light would come on but the band was kicking in the motor was not hot but the temperature wire was drowning out and was not was shutting the bike down for safety it wasn't doing it because it was messed up or something was wrong it was just shutting it down for a safety reasons for a Christmas gift
