So i just picked up this bike and i got the carbs clean, but now can't figure out how to reinstall them in the bike, the throttle linkage hits the cyl. head no matter how I turn it... So do I just need a real big shoehorn and some axle grease or what?

Ok, I've got the carbs back on and the carb boots tightened up, now I'm just trying to figure out where everything goes, as I got the bike with a few things removed by the PO. Coming from the center plate that holds the two carbs together are 4 hoses, 2 of which are for incoming fuel, that connect to the petcock valve, which are located closer to the front and back, but the other 2 go into a T-fitting above the carbs. Where does this T-fitting go to? Or is it supposed to be left open like a breather or something?
This pic shows the T-fitting, circled in red. (Again, not sure if that is where it is supposed to be, that is just where it was located when I got the bike)

Any help or a hose routing schematic would be greatly appreciated.
