Looking for a new front tyre for my 08' classic.
We're limited over here in the U.K. for choice so will probably get another manufacturer recommended Dunlop D404 130/90/16.

Tyreleader (probably cheapest supplier for U.K buyers) are showing the one for that bike has "FP" (flange protection for rim) which bumps up the price by around £25.

My bike still has the original Dunlop D404F on. It's done 7k and is now down to legal limit on tread and is cracking on the sidewalls due to age.
I cant see that the original has flange protection (pic attached) so my question is should I pay the extra for this or stick to a normal one?
