I found this on You Tube and figured why not give it a try - It wasn't that bad once you got over the fear factor - Now a Stator swap will be less than an hour job.

Is that supposed to be an easy job? I need to replace the stator on my 89 VN750, and after seeing this video, am a little discouraged about taking it on myself.

Replacing the stator on a Vulcan 750 (all of them) requires removing the engine.
Not an impossible job, and maybe a good idea if your bike has other issues.
This mod is affordable, can be done ON THE BIKE, and let's you make
future stator replacements in about 15 minutes.
