You don't have to lower your bike to put the 230 tire on. It'll look a little taller but won't make a huge difference.

I myself put a 230 Avon tire and at the same time I added the LA Choppers 1"-2" lowering kit. I currently ride at the 2" drop with the spring setting at 7 (stiffest)

Looks WAY better dropped. Some guys here ride with a 3" drop but that'll be too low being that I weigh 215lbs.

You could go with the 230 tire and see how you like it. Then maybe consider getting a lowering kit. The kits are pretty much all the same and they're easy to install and adjust. I can post pics of my bike for you if you like.

Yeah my girl rides with me too and she weighs about 125lbs... So just try it out. Stiffen the suspension and try stock height, then 1", then maybe 2" and so on.

I went to a local tire shop. My kawi dealers was like "No Way. The biggest we'll instal is a 190 on your bike." the guy at the tire shop was like "sure, no problem". You just have to watch them to make sure the don't bend the brake rotor. Oh and make sure you put all of the nuts and washers and bolts exactly where they belong because I missed 1 washer and it threw my rear wheel off-center and it was rubbing.

Good Luck.
It's gonna look awesome!
