Hey all, long time no see :) I sold my nomad last year and have been itching for another one....I should be pick up my new 2023 voyager in a few wks. I noticed the cobra tri flow I had on my nomad, that i loved, isnt available for the 2023 1700 ;( ......

What are the suggestions on something that will sound as good or better than the tri flo did on my Nomad.

I have these on my Nomad and really like them.
Just cruising around they have a nice rumble but not that much louder than stock.
If you roll hard on the throttle they really bark

They have lots of options for color and tips.
You can see and hear them on several YouTube videos

Some of the folks are buying these and like them. No experience...just passing on info. Good luck on the new bike! Exhaust for Kawasaki Vulcan Tourers, Slip-On Pipes for Kawasaki Vulcan Vaquero 1700 and Kawasaki Vulcan Voyager 1700 Touring Models

Thanks fellas! I'll definitely look into both of these. I know I wanna get an air filter and exhaust before I send off the ecu to Ivan :) :sneaky:

Just a thought. If you upgrade your air intake and exhaust, the stealership may give you a hard time about warranty repair issues.
If you Ivanize the ECU you will definitely void your warranty.

Though technically true, it doesn't void the warranty on the entire bike. The dealer has to prove your issue its related to the modified part. They can't deny a claim against, say the forks, because you have an Ivanized ECU.

Yea I have a buddy that works at the local power sports store and said that it only voids if they can prove fault was due to upgrade, and he never writes up upgrades on warranty claims so i'd be safe there too.
I Ivanized my new 2016 at the 2000 mile mark. I had warranty work done 3300 mile mark with no problem. That being said, all situations and dealers are different. I sure didn't tell them ECU was reflashed.

I bought the Sharkroads (for my Vaq) over winter and have been riding with them for a few weeks now. I left the baffles in and am very happy with the result. Naturally I can't speak for long term but if I can keep the finish looking good I'd say they are very good bang for your buck.

I agree but if you have some kind of engine issue they sure could give you a hassle and the run around if they wanted to. Just something to be aware of. Some folks don't think about these things. Ultimately it's your bike and you can do whatever you want to. Just make informed decisions.

BTW: those Sharkroads sound nice

I have the sharkroads on my 2010 voyager. I LOVE THEM. with baffles in they have a light growl at lower acceleration, and good throaty roar when you push on it......pull the baffles and she screams. (Which is what I currently run, and no none of my neighbors have complained yet lol) the only down side I've found are the pops and bangs when I drop a gear. (An ivan tune will fix most if not all of that).

All in all, I'm very happy with them and my wallet thanked me too lol.

Yep, that's about right. With the baffles they're decently loud, sound good running and have a nice rumble when you throttle on or when you're engine braking. I bet they'd sound even better without the baffles but I get up pretty early for work most mornings and I like my neighbors. With the Ivan tune I have encountered no pops or bangs. I'd say it's the two best upgrades I've done on the bike so far.

I didnt want to create another thread, but I decided to go with the 2019 Blue Voyager....

Question to everyone though..... It's already got cobra slip ons or exhause, but its not the same ones my nomad had on it..... My nomad had the Cobra Tri oval.... but this is the other one cobra makes, anyone know if the sound is the same?

I don't think they're going to sound the same. That being said, if you like the way they sound well enough that just frees up more money for the Ivan's tune and the air intake upgrade.
