Welcome to the forum. I also have the 2009 Vulcan 500. It is a fun bike and I have it farkled out to my taste now. HID headlights, heated grips, Falcon 16 windshield, USB power ports, BatteryMinder hook up and RAM mount. Just did my second valve adjustment on it yesterday. Enjoy the bike and son.

Welcome! I also have a 2009 500 and it has been a great bike. I have over 30,000 trouble free miles on it.
