Hey I have been trying to trouble shoot a no start condition on my 1500 classic. I've read dozens of threads with incredible troubleshooting advice and tried to follow it. I'll lay out what I have done to date and if any advice is available I'd love it

Bought it 2 weeks ago, ran home just fine. It had lots of accessories and like a fool I took them off without running it a few days to see if there were any preexisiting conditions. Removed a stereo system and cigarette lighter. Both were bolt on and no tie into the wiring harness. When removing it I pulled the harness out towards the tank from the battery box and hope I did not tug something loose in the process.

Feel free to start me at the beginning but here is what I know

Main starter solonoid. The wire in from the junction box does not get hot by pressing the start button, if I jump that solonoid it will crank over
Junction box. Power in and power to the starter solonoid in there but no power coming out after the switch to the main solonoid. If I jump the solonoid it will crank over. I tried a buddies junction box in here to see if it was the problem. Same no start condition.

Just purchased a new battery for is as the teminal top was cracked from previous owner.

I have a multimeter and would love some direction

Assuming when you turn the key everything lights up and your fuel pump cycles...

Does your brake light flash when you grab the front brake? If not, then its The connection that is responsible for power to the front brake light switch, kill switch and starter button. Don't ask me which one it is.. But its near where you were working.

Yeah thats what I meant. The break light comes on steady. Hmm... Check the connector anyway. Maybe you pulled a wire for the kill switch out by mistake.

OK:

1. On starter solenoid, push red meter lead down beside yellow/red wire to contact pin.
2. Black meter lead to battery ground.
3. Key on, push/hold start button and take voltage reading

Post back with reading.
