Hello all, I just bought a 2006 Kawasaki Vulcan 2000 used , from a dealer in Andover NJ. Name of the dealer is The Cycle Exchange. Since I have seen the motorcycle, test run and the run after it was delivered, I ran the engine for total of 5 minutes, here is the image, my oil level is right at the tip of the dipstick, where the black arrow is pointing. Do any one of you think that I have a damaged engine due to low oil level. Would it cause engine damage to run the engine with this low of engine oil?

V2K oil

Every time I check the oil on this freight train. I get a different reading. What gives. I do it bye the book. Why oh why did Kawasaki not give this bike a window.

Yeah, VN2K has a very specific oil checking procdure you must follow.

If you do it the more conventional way it'll likely end up overfilled and putting some oil into the air cleaner housing and leaking out from there.

The procedure is in the Op's and Service Manual. The Kawasaki service letter in that linked thread is pretty good.

The bike has to be level can't check the oil on the kickstand if you checked it like that it will read low on the dipstick
