I just recently purchased a Vulcan 500. Took it into the local motorcycle shop to get new tires and have the carb rebuilt. The bike had sat for over a year before I bought it. The motorcycle shop replaced the carb boots on the motor side due to vacuum leaks. They also said they cleaned and rebuilt the carbs. But, it runs worse now than it did before. It has very little engine braking, pops/backfires from the left exhaust on deceleration and won't run worth a darn at the recommended idle. I have to idle it a little faster than stock recommendations. So far I have pulled the new plugs the shop put in and it seems that they both are good on top but lean white the further down the plug I look. To start I'm going to do a carb sync, adjust mix screws and idle. Hoping to hear some input. Thanks!
