Your best bet for the owner's manual is the dealer b/c prices on the net will be the same plus you'll have to pay shipping for what may turn out to be a photocopy . I don't own a VN2K yet but based on the fact that I've serviced my own bikes for 30 years , I would bet that the primary recommended oil for the bike is a motorcycle specific 10W40 with an API rating of at least SG and/or JASO MA ; make sure the oil is NOT "energy conserving" . Now , you can use different weights like 20W40 or even 20W50 but only if the temps in your area are warm enough and don't dip low . I live in Canada where by October morning and evening temps are too low for the thicker grades as evidenced by slower/notchier shifting and longer warm-up time , so I use 10W40 all year . Btw , you can use either conventional oil or (after the motor is well broken in) semi-synthetic or for more money full-synthetic . Hope this helps .
