I'm looking to buy a windshield for my 2003 EN500. I've never had one on the bike and not sure what to get. Don't have much to spend on one so I'm thinking about one of the $50 ones that you see on ebay. I've also seen the ones that extend out in front of the handlebar grips. The ones on ebay look flimsy but who knows, price is right. What would you guys recommend suggest? I'm 5' 9" 180, stock seat.

humblegeo,

I don't know which ones you are referring to, but regardless of what you purchase be sure both the height and the angle are adjustable. We're the same height, and assuming you want to see over the screen, a 17" screen should be about right if it is angled more vertically than the forks and you want close clearance to your headlight. Otherwise, if you match the fork angle, a 17" may be too short unless raised up over the headlight quite a bit. If you purchase one that's too tall, that's OK. They're easy to cut down with a jigsaw.

If you're into cutting the buffeting as much as possible, as I am, you may want to consider adding lowers as well.

Hey Humble. Spitfire makes a decent, molded plastic shield that is both distance and height adjustable, within your price range. You can find it on amazon.com.
