Hello Everyone

I have a 1994 vulcan that has about 1900kms on it. The thing has sat for two years now without running. I have a new battery and fresh fuel in it but it will not start with the starter button? I turn the key on and everything works except the headlight and the starter button. had the handle bar apart for corrosion checks etc on the switches and everything appears to be fine. I have tested every connection that I can think of and it is all working. I checked all fuses and relays everything appears to be alright as well. If I jump the starter solenoid it will turn over but will not fire. Does anyone have any suggestions as to the issue? Thanks!

mm not up on electrics but have u checked the side stand switch
He says it will turn over, so all the safety switches are working. (ie. sidestand, clutch and engine kill switch)

Takman, check the small trigger wires on the solenoid coming from the starter button to see if you have power there. If there is power, but the solenoid does not click, it is faulty.

You say it will not fire even when you bypass the solenoid, and it turns over.
Do you mean by this that you have pulled a plug and checked for a spark?
Or do you just mean it will not start and run?

post back results.
