please tell me the good/bad/ugly on it. going to see one and maybe purchase, last bike I had was a shadow 1100 and that was a snail on the FWY. I need plenty of balls to go from 80-100 QUICK as drivers here in CA are crazy.
if there are any mods that can be done to it I would also appreciate it.
thanks.

Good reliable engine. Strong and fast with exhaust and intake. If aftermarket exhaust and intake kit on it, see if it has a fuel module like the power commander or cobra fi2000. Did they remove/block off the reed valves with said upgrades? Not mandatory, but helps keep it from popping. Stock seat sucks after about 30 minutes to a hour. High mileage? Listen for cam chain rattle. They're known for stretching the chain further than the adjuster can go causing damage to the spark plug tube. There is an inexpensive fix if it hasn't damaged anything yet.

*Edit: One thing I instantly noticed about mine was the stock gauge lights were too dim to be useful at night. Test drove it during the day so never caught that. Cheap 194 LED bulbs took care of that.

it only has 5900 miles on it :D

one thing I keep reading is plenty still fish for 6th gear, are there any mods that bring the RPMs down when at high speeds?

Low miles, nice. Check the tires. Make sure they're not the originals.

Not sure what you mean about the 6th gear. Meanies are 5-speeds. Only add-on I know that lowers my RPMs at high speeds is my pillion screaming in my ear to "slow the [email protected]#$ down".

To be honest, these engines like to be revved a little higher.

got a feeling they are the originals, bike looks really clean/garage kept. seller has been trying to get rid of it for about 4 months, hope he takes 2200 for it :surprise:

That would explain why he's been selling it for 4 months.

Good for u ,gut feeln usually Right, but do tell:nerd:
fell in love with the way the bike looked, tad over 5 k miles and it looked brand new. anyways, the pink was from out of state & not in his name, his "sister" just "gave" it to him blah blah blah, he did not get CA plates because it would take too long to get the pink (I was like, dude you had it for MONTHS) , next was the sound after it started, back fired & felt like it was going to drown, tire was not just old but seemingly FLAT in areas, the kind of flat you might get is you are doing burn outs like a freaking moron. took it for a test drive and first gear seem weird/out of power with the bike struggling, took getting it to second/3rd gear for the bike to start feeling ok. too many things did not add up, he said he regularly rode it but I really find it hard to believe he did ride it at all based on how the bike acted. his story simply did not sound right.
