Suggestions for zip-up easy on/off boots?

Hey all,

I've got a pair of motorcycle boots that I like a lot, they are very comfortable. But they are the regular lace-up kind and that gets to be a bit of a pain when changing shoes when I get to work or when I want to walk around for a while (one of the things that makes them so comfortable on the bike; the really stiff ankle; also makes them less-than-idea for walking!).

So, looking for some zip-up boots that are a little easier to get on/off quickly. Any suggestions?

Bates. Uniform boots. Come in low (just above the ankle) or high tops. High ones have laces and zippers. I use the low ones in the summer, higher one in the winter. In and out of the squad over 30 times a shift makes high tops cumbersome. However, the snow drifts we get to climb through make them necessary. Breaking them in makes a big difference. Hard on the feet & ankles at first but they are really comfortable to walk in afer broken in. Check in Police uniform shops, Army surplus or Farm stores near you.

I've had great luck with 5.11 boots for over a decade, several models to chose from. Practically no break-in period.

I have a pair of Durango boot, and love them. They are side zip ups and the ankle is not that stiff for 8" boots. Here is a link.

Just in case you had not thought about it. Be sure to get a pair that has a continued piece of leather or what ever material the boot is made of across the zipper. Zippers LEAK.

Had not considered that, thanks! Will look into that. Waterproof would be nice! My current boots are 'sprinkle resistant', but in a serious downpour they get soaked. I want to find something that can really avoid that...

Yes my boots are waterproof. If you have them zipped all the way up. I also mink oiled them as soon as I got them.

I was an inch close to getting some bates waterproof boots, but, a friend of mine who had some in the past told me they were junk. I have been looking for the same thing for about a month. The best thing I can find is this... http://www.motorcycle-superstore.com...our-Boots.aspx

These are not zippers, but the only other ones I liked had a heavy duty sole which I'm not to keen on...

And my favorite...

Romans, do not buy xelement. I have some and they are flimsy.

But I was treated mercifully because I didn’t know what I was doing—didn’t know Who I was doing it against! Grace mixed with faith and love poured over me and into me. And all because of Jesus. Here’s a word you can take to heart and depend on: Jesus Christ came into the world to save sinners. I’m proof—Public Sinner Number One—of someone who could never have made it apart from sheer mercy.

I am not a big fan of the Harley Davidson Boots. I had a pair of them that had laces and zipped on the side. They were ok to ride in, PAINFUL to walk in and were just all around rather cheap. The leather work held up fair but the insides were lacking. Also they zipper pulls broke after about a year, lace hooks bent. My wife has a pair of them and likes them but from my time being married, (this is a general statement, so you ladies don't attack me) women are more pleased with the looks over comfort, she also don't wear boots as much as I do. (Almost everyday)

I have also heard that they are manufactured by a "Cheapest Bidder" type process. They take a pile of and put numerous shield and "HDs" all over it and sale it for $$$.
