Well, after countless hours searching, going into many, many stores, and trying on lots and lots of different boots, I have decided to order the Milwaukee afterburner boots. I did not get to try them on, just other zip up pairs that are similar. I like the zip up style without laces, mostly because it eliminates an entry point of water for those inevitable times that I will be caught in the rain.
The boots have great reviews all over the internet, plus I got to examine another pair of Milwaukee boots and can say with certainty that they are very well made.
I get them Saturday. I'll have to try them out and let everyone know how they feel/fit.
Price was $90 including
expedited shipping and taxes through Amazon. My local store has them at $160 plus tax! Yikes!. Average online price was about $110, as high as $170.
This is shiped to a place just over the border, about 1.5 hours drive for me. Shipping to Canada with duties/customs fees would have been another $70. So, my wife, kids and I will make a day out of it.
I have no idea how there can be that large of a price gap, but it is there. And not just on these boots, on many that I looked for.
