Does anybody ride w/earplugs (recommendations)

I guess I am getting old.
If I ride without earplugs, I get tinnitus.
Its not the pipes, it is the wind.
I have heard that a better fitting helmet might help; but I own a metric, so I am not going to throw cash at the problem.

Who else rides with ear plugs?
What do you recommend?

Has anyone used these?

I've been using these for a couple of years, which you can get at Lowe's or Home Depot probably under a couple of different name brands. I forget how many different earplugs I've tried and these are my favorites. They're effective but soft enough to not bother my ears, even for long periods of time (8-10 hours in some cases). I wear them for anything that is loud and get several uses out of them until they won't roll up and have to be thrown away.

Sometimes my GF puts cotton balls in her ears when we ride when it starts getting cold to keep from getting an ear ache.

I use the standard foam E-A-R plugs. Noise is like lead poisoning; it has cumulative effects. I have tinnitus from too many years of jet engine noise and do whatever I can to keep the noise levels down. I wear ear plugs in movie theatres and even church!

Electronic Noise cancelation ear plugs, plug em in to your ipod or just put em in and turn em on and listen to quiet.. They allow you to hear sharp noises like a car horn.. About 70.00 BUT they have to be noise Cancelation ....not suppression.. Bulldozer

I've worn custom molded plugs for a few years and I love them. Check out www.bullfrogcycle.com.

I wear mine ALL THE TIME> I won't even do a 15 min ride without them. I'm a musician and can't afford to hurt my hearing any more. I use some walgreens Howard Leight Sleepers. Since they're meant for sleeping, you don't feel as much pressure as with regular ear plugs. It brings everything down in volume, but I can still hear everything, cars, engines, tires, horns, etc. They only drawback is when trying to talk from one vehicle to another at a stop light.

After I started wearing ear plugs, I noticed rides were more pleasing, and I was less tired when I would get to work. Something about the mind not being on the edge during the whole trip because of the excessive noise.

16,484 miles when I bought it September 2011. 29,100 miles January 2014. All these miles have been enjoyable almost entirely thanks to this forum.

Juancho,
Have you ever tried the musician earplugs like these:

Do most music stores carry this type of item?

BD,
Where do you get yours?
I usually wear a NRR 26 earplug. It functions well for noise reduction; but I recently purchased an intercom system for when my wife rides with me. At highway speeds I cannot hear the intercom with that rating of earplug. So, I am not really looking for cancellation. Hoping that the musicians earplugs will fit the bill.
