Riding Hoodie vs. Riding Shirt

Anyone, have any experience with riding shirts or hoodies??? I'm considering getting one for the times I don't feel like lugging around my leather jacket wherever I'm going. I like the idea of the shirt because I could put a vest over it if I need to, but I'm not sure yet. Any insights would be nice.

I use Duluth Trading Firehose shirt (and pants) for riding gear. The Firehose jeans have supposedly saved a few folks from nasty road rash. I've only gone down in mud so far, thankfully. Nice and soft mud.

My leather is for really, really hot days. If it's just a little bit chilly, I'm usually just riding with a regular hoodie. No need for a "riding hoodie" for me.
