I would like to know what the general opinion is on the preferred tire pressure for the Vulcan 800.
Here are my specifics:
Model - 2003 Vulcan 800 Classic (no major weight mods)
Miles - 9,800
Front - OEM Bridgestone EXEDRA G703 130/90-16 67H (almost like new)
Rear - OEM Bridgestone EXEDRA G702 140/90-16 71H (still good)
(When the time comes, I think I will get a set of Michelin Commanders)
Style - Primarily solo (190 lbs.) ride (88 mile daily commute) - majority Interstate miles - almost exclusively fair weather
My priorities are as follows:
1. Safety
2. Handling
3. Tire Life
4. MPG
5. Ultra-Comfortable ride
I often hear the Kawasaki specs of 28/28 (32 w/passanger) are too low, so I have been running at 33 / 36 psi. (I cold check & set them OFTEN) This seems ok, but I am interested in what others have experienced.
What do you run - and why?
