Carb issue, off idle bogging

I have a 1998 Vulcan 800 Classic. I bought the bike after it had been sitting for a while. I cleaned the carb really well, blew air through everything, and installed new jets, needle, float needle, and gaskets. When the bike is running and I just stab the throttle from an idle, the bike will die. However, if I slowly twist the throttle to bring the RPMs up by about 500, I can stab the throttle and the response is instant. Also, when I pull the choke lever out, the bike will die on me. Another thing I noticed is that the accelerator pump doesn’t squirt fuel out when I twist the throttle, but it seemed to squirt fine when the carb was off the bike for a rebuild.

My current jetting:
50 pilot
170 main
Stock needle w/ 2 shims
A/F screw doesn’t seem to change anything but is set at 2 turns out

I just rejetted mine. I'm running: 145 main jet, 50 pilot jet and no shims on my main needle.
I bought my kit from 6 sigma. They custom make it for you and your bike, also to what modifications you've done to your bike.
