Petcock, replace ore rebuild

Petcock is leaking on my 97 Vulcan classic. Do i replace it , or rebuild?
I'm happy to take it apart, clean and repair. .... but would it be better to replace?
Thanks !

Not worth to rebuild. Just replace it with a Suzuki LT80 petcock for 5$

Replaced mine last week. Works perfectly. I only had to shorten the knob. (Depends on which type You buy.) Cheaper and longer ones work just from the box Everything else works like a charm

If you want to retain OEM features, replace. Rebuilds are very hit and miss.

I tried a rebuild which didn't work, ended up replacing.

Finally got around to putting in the cheap replacement.... I see what you mean about shortening the knob. Probably do that tomorrow.
The fuel intake tube/filter is a lot shorter. Can i assume that reserve is going to be less? I try to never let it get to that, but good to know.
Thanks

Sure, the reserve will be a bit shorter How much? I never got a chance to measure. Actually, I never reach it anyway by doing 120 miles on a highway till I tank.
It would be great if someone could share their experience.
