Black forks

Is there anyway to completely black out the front forks on a 2000 VN800A? I assume powder coating is too thick and paint would scrape off. Looking for thoughts?

Sorry, no.
The only way is to use something like fork protectors.

I've been looking for fork boots for ages! Do the ones linked fit the sliders and the fork tubes properly for our bikes??

Sorry, I don't know I've never used such a stuff. I assume that there should be the right diameter protectors elsewhere, too.
Personally, I don't like them because it's hard to control the dust and the dirt which sometimes accumulates there under.

I just ordered these in the 41mm. I'll let you know if they fit properly...

Just in case anyone is looking for fork gaiters for their 800, the ones I linked did work. The bottom portion is maybe 70mm instead of the 65mm needed, but I wrapped some electrical tape around the slider and safety wired the top and bottom on, so you'd have to look closely at it to know it wasn't the correct size. I think it looks pretty good!
