Burping coolant without a thermostat

I removed the thermostat on my vn800a and just have the hose running from the engine to the radiator like I've read many have done. My question is when filling coolant I'm not sure how burping the system to remove any air pockets would work with a closed off system like that. Has anyone had any issues without doing it or is there a way to burp it without a tstat?
