Bobber project almost complete

My bobber project is getting closer to completion. I started with a bone stock '03 VN800B that had just under 17K on the clock and this is what I've done so far (listed all shipped costs I've paid):

Internal wired 12" black apes $76
Clutch cable $24
Black Kuryakyn Iso grip knock offs $15
Debaffled the exhaust $0
Added exhaust wrap $13 for 50ft
Removed and chopped front and rear fenders $0
Shinko 777 white wall tires $225 (tires, tubes, and rim strips)
Removed chain guard $0
Rear LED light and license plate bracket $26
39T rear sprocket $26
Black bullet LED signals $15 (including a load equalizer for each side)
Removed upper and lower fork covers
Blue Collar Bobbers seat brackets with hardware (not their seat though) $200
La Rosa Diamond stitched seat $65
Synthetic leather swing arm bag ($34 and VERY nice)

I chopped the sides and back of the rear fender but don't like the way it looks so a gloss black Blue Collar Bobber fender is being delivered tomorrow ($245). I've chopped the front fender, which I do like, but probably not going to mount it.

I also bought a set of knock off Harley controls to replace the stock when I get the urge. I can't decide if I like the 12" apes and thinking about going to 10". If I do that I'll definitely put on the HD controls at that time. I have a rubber pinstripe removal wheel delivering tomorrow ($10) and will take off the tank decals.

I need to adjust the valves at some point this spring and will do the engine mods at that time. So far it's been a fun project.

Looks awesome, in my opinion the only thing missing is a peanut tank.

I so love the look of the Sportster peanut tanks, but I only get about 200km until I hit reserve with the stock tank, so I just can't bring myself to put a smaller tank on. They look oh so good on bobbers though.

The bike is looking pretty sweet though! Post some pics with the rear fender on it. I'm thinking about removing my fork covers and putting some gaiters on, are you going to keep the stanchions bare?

Never argue with a fool: onlookers may not be able to tell the difference.

Hey Bagger_Vance, I see an Iowa plate on your bike. Where in Iowa are you located ?? I'm in Fort Dodge, and am always looking for people to go riding with.

By the way, I like what your doing with your bike !! Looks sweet !! Just be careful that the back tire doesn't suck you in while running down the road. You would most likely loose some valuable body parts, then have a very disappointed wife.......

Looks good man. Want to see your finished product.

I'm in Des Moines and if you're in the area shoot sometime shoot me a PM. I've got the rear fender on now so I don't have to worry about tire burn down my backside, thankfully. Once the weather is better I'll take a few updated pics.

I appreciate it, brother. People are more interest in it more than any of my HDs that I tricked out. Good luck on your build!
