I've read elsewhere that there is a quiet recall concerning the left saddlebag rubbing.
Although I didn't notice sounds from there, I had my plastic bib hydrodipped and put a leather tank bib under it. Certainly no sounds from there now! I'm guessing that my FF helmet kills a lot of the noise out.
Ray said that when he replaced the louvers with the driving lights, he had fewer issues with wind pushing him around. I still have the louvers, and the bike feels perfectly stable to me. Knock on wood, but so far I have not experienced a lot of the problems that others have had.
The OEM brake pads will glaze and then chatter if you lightly use them. I occasionally have to make a hard stop to break the glaze. When I wear the OEM pads out, I will replace with pads that don't have this problem.
When I had my tires replaced, they discovered that the belt guard had been installed incorrectly and was rubbing the belt, and the belt had rubbed a slot completely through the plastic! I had heard that sound, but was never able to isolate it. You may want to look at that as well.
Oh, riding a 2011 Vaquero, less than a year on it and already over 11k.
