Is it OK to block air switching valve?

I have a Chucksters BAK and it comes with a plug to block air from getting to air switching valve. Is it A good idea to plug or should I find a way to allow filtered air to it?
I understand it allows air into the exhaust on decel, for emissions reasons, and may be the cause of backfiring.

I don't believe my V&H Pro pipe has a catalytic converter in it, so guess I'm ok there.

It serves no useful purpose other than to allow your bike to pop & backfire on decel, and IMO should be blocked. Ivan's reflash renders the system obsolete anyway, but I still left the hose stopped (with a large ball bearing) on mine after having the ECU flashed.

Block it. I have chucksters with Ivans. Different bike.
