Bike weight vs overall weight

My 09 runs geat stock. Cobra rack for little more storage capability. My question..... I/we load heavy when we road trip. I notice when stopping, turning, pulling through the gears. I know there are trailers you can haul to bear that load. But whats best for the bike? Loading your bike to max. but maintain ability to handle and performance still their? Load a trailer and let tranny and brakes take the punishment? Your thoughts from experience

Transmission and brakes take a beating either way. Tire wear is less with a good trailer not to mention the shocks. A bike is designed to handle only so much weight .
