Ignition Wire recall question

I have a question regarding the ignition wire recall. Does the tech have to remove the ignition switch itself for this? I finally had mine done yesterday and today when I was washing the bike to put it to bed for winter I saw that the decal around the ignition switch was kind of bunched up (see pictures - bottom right near the word ignition). I'm pretty anal about my bike so I'm pretty sure I would have noticed this earlier, but before I show the dealer what happened I want to make sure they have to work around/remove the switch to make the recall repairs.

Thanks for all info in advance.

The dealer would have removed the chrome ring, tank cover and fuel tank in order to perform the recall. The chrome ring can be difficult to pull up, especially the first time, and it appears the tech used something metal to pry it off. No doubt that caused the damage you have.
