GPS and CB question, Vaquero

I have a 2011 Vaquero, I want to run my GPS through my fairing speakers but from what I can tell that option is not available on the 2011 model, only 2012 and up. My question is this, if you have a factory cb installed and do not have a headset plugged in, does it play through the fairing speakers? If so, where is the connection, and has anyone tried running a GPS through the cb connection so it will play through the fairing speakers?

The CB does not run through the speakers, headset only.

Not sure why the GPS cable wouldn't work, I wasn't aware anything on the infotainment system has changed since it was introduced on the Voyager in 2009. But, you never know.

What are you trying to make your gps do? Silence music when the gps speaks? Otherwise just run it through aux.... But I never need to hear my gps as I can see it easily enough. Actually I do not like it yakking all the time.....

I want it to play through my speakers, I have my ipod connected so I can't use the aux cable. I can see the gps but I want to hear it when I'm leading a large group in unfamiliar territory. When making turns close together it will tell you what lane to get in before the turn, that's the main reason I want to hear it. I've read on here that someone got the gps cable but when they tried to connect it there wasn't any connections for it on the radio. When I looked at the cable on ebay it says 2012 and up. My GPS is a tomtom rider, it doesn't have a speaker in the unit.

I put one of these things (not exactly that one, but it popped up first in a search) in my left side storage pocket, ran a USB socket in there to plug it into for power, and plugged the aux adapter from the Kaw head unit into it.

I wouldn't think it even needs to be in the storage pocket, it could be taped up inside the fairing somewhere.

But anyhow... bluetooth music from my phone, or I guess directions from your Tom Tom Rider? And couldn't you store your music on the GPS? Opens up the possibilities anyway.

You can run more than one audio input into your aux using a "Y" connector. Done it for years on various scoots.....

I started with a Tom Tom Rider, it doed after 13 months... have a cheap Garmin now... 4 years old and still going.

I ordered the Bluetooth adapter the other day. My ipod is currently connected by the ipod connector, if I connect it with the aux adapter can you still control the volume from the handlebars?

Yes, but you lose the ability to skip songs and select playlists from the handle bars

If you're just trying to get GPS through the speakers while playing your tunes, why not run a GPS app on your phone. I run with my iPhone tucked away in the left pocket jamming out the tunes and telling me where to go via one of many map apps I have loaded on there . . . I have a cheap Garmin Nuvi in a H2O proof case on my bars for visual reference . . .
