Voyager 1700: What RPM to you cruise around town at?

I'm wondering what RPMs other Voyager owners generally cruise around town at - specifically in 2nd or 3rd gear, maybe 4th.

Previously I had been upshifting at 2400 or 2500 RPM. So I basically never rode above that. But as this riding season begins, I've been cruising at around 2800 RPMs, not upshifting till about 3000 RPMs. And I feel like I have a little more control.

What is your preference? What RPMs do you cruise at when you're not on the highway?

Thanks for the input.

Shift between 3500-4grand, and cruise at 2200-3k. No need to lug it around... rough on the crank.

1996 Harley Davidson FXDS with a lot of stuff. Yes, it's fast, yes it will pull the front tire in 1-3rd. No it's not a stock evo.

For me it depends on the road and traffic. Flat roads with little traffic, I will let it down to 2000 rpms. Hilly roads and traffic I will keep it at the peak torque of 2800 to 3000 so I know it will respond when needed.

To be honest, I have no idea.

I have 28,000 miles on the VV and I have spent as little time as possible in 2nd and 3rd.

Just easy cruising, 45 mph speed limits mostly, 4th or 5th gear around 2000-2500 rpms? if hilly or going for highway speeds 2500-3000 rpms. I usually dont run it hard.

I usually keep it between 2,500 and 3,500; seems to lose a lot of smoothness lower, especially down near or below 2,000 so I avoid going that low.

Was thinking it may be nice to add any mods you have also since this can effect the torque curve some. I'm running an EJK tuner with a Thunder stock cover intake, and 3 baffles drilled on right and 2 on the left. I'm also running darkside with a 205/60/16

Cool Leisure

I usually cruise at 3,000 RPM. Don't shift much above that unless on uphill travel. Love that 3,000 RPM in 6th gears is about 83 MPH

The bike cruises around 4k in the triple digit range down 95, so I am told.

Pretty much I go by the seat of my pants and shift when the bike seems to,need it. Don't pay much attention to the rpm's. My only advice is don't lug the engine--it's hard on it.
